There are alumni events throughout the year where alumni of all ages are encouraged to return to see how Chi Psi is doing. In addition to providing our graduated members a chance to see friends from their time at Chi Psi, it gives undergrads a chance to meet alumni and continue strengthening our network of brothers.
Annual events that we always host include:
Founders' Day
On the Saturday closest to May 20th each year, we celebrate the founding of the national fraternity with a banquet at the University of Washington Club, which is ideally located on campus.
Victor Night
Every fall, the incoming pledge class is officially introduced to the alumni. Also, if we’ve won any awards at our National Convention that summer, Victor Night serves as a dedication to the awards and is an opportunity for alumni to find out about the plans at the start of the year.
Poker Night
Once or twice a year, alumni return to the Lodge to compete in a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament with the actives. The winner moves on to the World Series of Lodge Poker! (i.e., he gets his name in our newsletter.)
Alumni-Active Basketball Game
Each spring the alumni return to the Lodge to compete against the undergraduates in a 5-on-5 basketball tournament in our back yard. Naturally, the undergraduates make sure that the alumni win.
Alumni-Active Football Game
Each fall, our intrepid alumni gird for battle on the gridiron and slay the undergarduates in a ferociously contested game of flag football.
Philip Spencer Golf Tournament
The annual Philip Spencer Golf Tournament is an alumni-active-parents golfing event each summer dedicated to our founder, Philip Spencer. |
