The Chi Psi Fraternity chapter at the University of Washington was founded in 1921. Auspiciously, every year since 1921, the Chi Psi National Fraternity has awarded the Thayer Trophy to the most outstanding chapter of Chi Psi.
From the very beginning, we established a tradition of excellence at the University of Washington, winning the Thayer Trophy in 1924. We won the Thayer Trophy again, in 1949. Since 1986, we have been finalists for the Thayer Trophy every year, winning it 10 times since 1986.
The first pillar of brotherhood at Chi Psi is respect for each other – you cannot have brotherhood without respect. All individuals in Chi Psi – actives and pledges – are treated equally. Interaction between every member, senior to freshman, is respectful, sincere, and honest with one another.
