As a fraternity based on balance, we take pride in our academic achievements. We consistently place in the top 5 of all fraternities with members in a variety of majors. We consistently place well above both the all-men's and all-fraternity average GPA.

Initiation GPA Requirement: Most of our members join Chi Psi in the fall quarter of their freshman year. We have found that academic success in this first quarter of college is very determinative of success for the entire college career. Therefore, we require a minimum GPA of 3.0 for initiation into Chi Psi. We rigorously enforce this requirement and will delay a member’s initiation until he has raised his GPA over 3.0.

Study Work Ethic: We do not have mandatory study tables during pledge quarter. Our academic success comes from the individual members’ self-motivation and personal balance. However, seniors, big brothers, and the scholarship chairman are always ready to bring academic resources and help to a Chi Psi who might be struggling academically. Our member’s majors cover a wide range of disciplines including finance, accounting, chemical engineering, pre-medicine, design, and history, to ensure that there will always be someone to assist with studying and picking classes.

Scholarships: Our national fraternity is committed to academic excellence across all of our alphas.  To help with this they provide 38 scholarships awarded annually totaling more than $68,000.
